MONEY MARKET.

The principal events affecting the Money Market which have
occurred since our last publication, were the completion of the
Derby ministry, the conversion of the French Rentes by the
President to 4{1/2} per cent., and the reduction by the Bank of
France of the rate of interest on loans from 4 to 3 per cent. All
these circumstances have occasioned a heaviness in our own
Money Market. Railway Stock has also been much demanded
for investment, and a rise has been the consequence.
