Not identified. Address: Kinsale. There seem to be no records that list a Griffiths living in Kinsale in the early 1850s; a George Griffith, 5 Brass Cock Hill, is listed in Valuation Papers of Ireland, compiled for Kinsale about 1852 (information from Cork City Library and from the National Library of Ireland, Dublin).

"The Dumb Child" appears to have been Miss Griffiths's most popular H.W. contribution. It was reprinted in the Manchester Courier, January 4 1851, with acknowledgment to H.W., and in Harper's, without acknowledgment; it was included in Henry T. Coates's Fireside Encyclopaedia of Poetry. Comprising the Best Poems of the Most Famous Writers, there marked "Author unknown". Harper's reprinted also, without acknowledgment to H.W., "The Orphan's Dream of Christmas" and "From Gold to Gray".
